Kassandra — easy access, more developed

Closer to Thessaloniki (75–125 km from SKG), better roads, more hotels at every price point, more nightlife and more restaurants. Beaches are mostly long sandy strips — organized, family-friendly, with beach bars. Top spots: Sani, Hanioti, Pefkochori, Kallithea, Paliouri. Best for: first-time visitors, families with young kids, party-seekers, luxury resort guests, anyone wanting variety without driving much.

Sithonia — wild, beautiful, less developed

Further from SKG (110–160 km, 1.5–2 hours), with winding coastal roads. Beaches are jaw-droppingly beautiful, often small coves with crystal-clear water set between pine-covered cliffs — many are non-organized, accessed by dirt road. Top spots: Vourvourou, Karidi Beach, Kavourotrypes, Sarti, Neos Marmaras, Toroni. Fewer mega-resorts, more Airbnb villas, more small family hotels. Best for: nature-lovers, returning travellers, couples with a rental car, photographers, sailing/SUP enthusiasts.
